keyna head profile

It has happened to all breeders at least once... a gate gets opened or left open. In Keyna's case, she was conceived when the gate between the girl's pasture and boy's pasture failed. By the time I had discovered it, they all were wearing very contented grins! So Keyna is the product of a suri male and huacaya female. This still makes her 100% huacaya genetically, but none-the-less we have her priced low because we did not choose this breeding. It took a long time to get her registered with the ARI confusion of a few years ago, but she is registered now, and is long overdue for breeding!

Conformationally she is very correct and above average in bone and size. Her pedigree is so strong on her dam's side for color that she came out a dark animal in spite of her sire's white fleece. She shows great color consistency in her blanket as well.

On her first reproductive examination, Dr. Bravo said she was sound, but during a second ultrasound a year later, the ovaries were not to be found. She sells as a non breeder because of this second ultrasound.

We apologize for not having a better photo of her in fleece, but here she is with her buddy Columba.
