Breeding Females
Bluebird Hills Mildred Bred to Full Accoyo! May 2008 special!
This is a light fawn suri female who is the daughter
of one of our tried and true females, HHSF Tasha.
This
dam always produces fantastic quality with great conformation and her daughters
have gone on to produce outstanding crias themselves. I really like this gal
for her relocking and excellent luster. She will make an outstanding foundation
female, especially if she takes after her mom who is an easy keeper and easy
birther. Mildred's ARI number is 30469600 and her birth date is 6 June, 2006.
She was shown at the 2006 Kentucky Classic where she took 2nd place. Her sire
is Ticket to Ride our half Accoyo herdsire who is a Baron son. Mildred has been
confirmed pregnant to Full Accoyo herdsire NGG Accoyo Antonius Stradivarius.
ARI# 820704. DOB 3-30-2000 for a June of 2008 cria that should be absolutely
spectacular. Stradivarius is pictured to the below. Mildred is offered fothe
month of May for only
$12,000!
Bluebird Hills Nuala
Nuala
(pronounced noola) is being offered for a quick sale because she has decided to
pick fights with our Great Pyrenees dog. The two have decided to pounce on
one another and I really don't want her teaching other crias and alpacas to do
this. Nuala is a medium fawn suri that was born to our bay black dam foundation
dam, Diana and our outstanding
herdsire Master Sargent. Since she was born 30 June, 2006, she is still a
maiden. Her ARI # is 30516274. Shorn in May 2007, she already has
great locks redeveloping and her conformation is great with an excellent topline,
good bite, and straight legs.
Thanks to Jim and Cathie Hulbert for purchasing Nuala!
Bluebird Hills Bling Bling..... 3 IN ONE PACKAGE!
Personality Plus describes this girl. This
beautiful light brown female is the first to come up for a scratch when anyone
comes
into the pasture. This is the type of female you really hate to part with
when she leaves because not only is she an excellent colored suri, but she also
owns a piece of our hearts. After proving to be very successful in the
show ring spring of 2005 with first place at the Buckeye and Triple Crown, as
well as second at the Kentucky Classic, Bling Bling
had her 2007 cria sired by our gray herdsire LFA King. Her dam is one of our best producing females, Kennaburga (ARI 818786) and her
sire is Master Sargent JCH who you can see on our herdsire page along with many
of Bling Bling's half siblings. She was born May 16th, 2004 and
her ARI number is 1306286. Bling Bling's cria, Bluebird Hills Macrina was born on June 7, 2007, and is pictured below
here. Macrina is well con
formed and has great density, locks, and luster.
Bling is confirmed pregnant by ultrasound to Golden Legacy a herdsire
owned by Ray and Maria Rodriguez of Leraso Farm and is due to deliver in June of
2008. Legacy is pictured at the left below Bling. This is a great opportunity to add wonderful color to your herd.
She is priced at $28,000 with her female cria Macrina, or $18,000 by herself,
bred to Golden Legacy.
Bluebird Hills Ciara 3 IN ONE PACKAGE!
For
all those interested in Accoyo background, Ciara is 1/4 Accoyo through her dam
Queen Amidala, but we
like
Ciara for what she is, a wonderful representation of suri phenotype. This
dark fawn female has the luster and locks that suri breeders strive for.
In the 3 shows we had her in last spring, she either took first or second place
at the 2005 Buckeye, the 2005 Triple Crown, and the 2005 Kentucky Classic.
Her birthdate is 20 May, 2004 and her ARI # 1252774. Her dam is Bluebird
Hills Queen Amidala and her sire Sir Lancelot JCH. If you want to add
beautiful color to your herd Ciara would be a great way to do it! Ciara is
being offered for $25,000 and comes
bred to LFA King . Below are
photos from June of
2006 after her second shearing revealing her excellent
conformation and fleece.
Pictured
at lower right is Ciara's cria sired by LFA King our medium rose grey
herdsire who has proven
himself well with the crias he now has on the ground.
His
first was this beautiful guy with uniform, lustrous locks and excellent
conformation.
His name is Marvin after our priest who witnessed his first
birth of any species while Marvin was running around the pasture. His
fleece is one of those that you part expecting one thing and finding another.
His locks are consistently uniform with good density and luster. He is
strong framed and well conformed. If he does not sell before the 2008
spring show season, you can be sure we will have this guy in the ring for he
just screams suri. In fact we are so pleased with this little guy that we
are rebreeding his dam as well as some of the other gals to LFA King for another cria of the
same great quality or better.
Ciara is
being offered for $18,000 and comes
bred to LFA King or for $22,000 with
her male cria Wingnut born in 2007.
Bluebird Hills Beyonce
Beyonce
is another wonderful daughter out of one of our best producing dams HHSF Tasha.
Tasha consistently produces rock solid alpacas and Beyonce is another fine
example. Beyonce is a dark fawn female born 4
May, 2004 and sired by Sir Lancelot JCH. Her ARI # is 1252682. She
has great bone, conformation, great lock structure, even after shearing, and
good luster. Her fiber is pictured to the right after shearing in June
with scissors. You can see how the locks and luster are definitely present
even just a month after shearing.
Beyonce competed against Ciara at the shows (Triple Crown, Kentucky Classic, and
Buckeye) in the spring of 2005 as
a juvenile
and took either first or second, changing places with her each time.
Beyonce was bred to LFA King in June for a late spring 2008 cria an is priced at $18,000. Below are pictures
taken in June 2006 after Beyonce was
shorn. Pictures without any fleece
are one of the best ways to evaluate conformation and you can see that Beyonce
is rock solid!
ARB Carmelita Here is a
very pleasant way to add Hemingway genetics to your breeding program! This is a
very pretty
medium fawn female huacaya with a very gentle disposition. She
was born on October 2nd, 2004. Her dam is Tawny Terra (ARI 176926) and her
sire is Snowmass Linebacker (ARI 815622). Carmelita's ARI number is
1210637. Carmelita is bred to Choco Peruvian Thunder (ARI# 1417623)
Bluebird Hills Miss Demeanor is a
full Peruvian light fawn huacaya born 27 September, 2004. Her ARI number is
1272895.
She is a huacaya out of two suri parents hence her name. She has inherited
her dam's incredible density and beautiful handle. Her dam is a Peruvian import, CPeruvian Dreamy (ARI number
806562). Her sire, SA Peruvian Limited Edition is also a full Peruvian,
ARI # 830682. The photo to the left does not do her justice since she was
recently shorn and a bit dirty. Full Peruvian!
Bluebird Hills Dippin Dot is our
other huacaya female born to suri parents. Her birth forced her father
into early
retirement
from serving as a herdsire. She is white with a few fawn spots making her
very likely to throw color when she is bred this coming spring.
These spots combined with a favorite Cincinnati Reds Baseball park snack of our
kids won her this name. Dippin Dot is a very sweet and easy going yearling
and
comes with a free breeding to one of our huacaya herdsires.
Conformationally she is correct, but her fleece characteristics need improving.
She has a soft handle, but needs to be bred to a male with good architecture and
density. Dippin Dot's dam is ATV Aurora listed here
on this page, and her
father is Dakota's Cody. Both mother and father are white, but Dakota's
sire was black, which explains the fawn spots. Her birth date is 2 June,
2005 and her ARI number is 30469464. She is
another gal priced to sell $8,000,
or you can buy her as part of the package below with her mother ATV Aurora.
ARB Sadie is a black yearling female
who was born 18 July, 2005 to her true black dam TVL Black Magic. Her ARI
# is
30469440
Her sire is Neville Lake's Comanche a bay black male and has a
predominantly colored heritage. Her mother is of both black and gray
background with 100% of her grandparents either rose or silver gray on her
mother's side. Sadie is correctly conformed and has a very fine and soft.
Sadie would make a wonderful foundation female and with all of the gray and
color in her background, we would recommend a breeding to a black or gray
herdsire. Sadie has been bred and confirmed pregnant by ultrasound. The
service sire is 557 Peruvian Gustav of Amy J's Homestead Alpacas (ARI # 829368),
a 6 Peruvian Conan son. She is due to deliver in late June of 2008. Her price has recently been
dropped to $10,000 from $12,000.
Bluebird Hills Columba is a true
black female huacaya who is ready for breeding fall of this year (2007
). You can
either take her home
to breed to the male of your choice, or take advantage of a free breeding to one
of our herdsires. Columba was born 19 October, 2004 to ATV Sable, a true
black (ARI 810489) and DPA Benito (ARI 817783). Her ARI number is 1252699.
This gal is one of those alpacas who will come to you to check things out, and
sometimes will muffle noses with you, but she is not as friendly as some of our
other gals. Because of registration delays beyond our control, Columba was
never shown. This is another female we need to move off the farm and her
price reduction should grab your attention. She is now priced at
$10,000 reduced from $15,000
Congratulations and THANK-YOU to Gary and Trudy Galla for their purchase of Pricilla and her best buddy Aurora!
ATV Pricilla
is a white suri female. She was born on 10 September, 1997. Her
registration number is 170397. Her sire
is
Jefe NT836 and her dam is Surina.
Pricilla had a medium fawn female cria on October 7th, 2005 that was sired by Master Sargent JCH,
and is pictured to the right. She is a very pretty little girl and has
good conformation and wonderful, lustrous locks, so Pricilla has what it takes
to produce beautiful cria. Pricilla has been bred to Kobe's Ovation for a
summer 2007 cria.
This will make a wonderful 2 in 1 package to
start or enhance your herd with. This dam
would make a very economical way to bring excellent suri genetics to a starter
or established herd.
News Flash....Pricilla's cria Bluebird Hills Brigid
just took 6th at 2006 AOBA National under Judge Amanda Vanden Bosch! She
also took 6th at the 2006 Ohio Buckeye show.
ATV Aurora
This female is one of the
gentlest alpacas I have ever known. She is not overly friendly, but I have
never
seen her act cross with anyone, alpaca, or
human. I have never
witnessed her kick or spit.
What makes her even more remarkable, is that
she passes this trait on to her offspring. They are always very easy to
handle and will often come up for a visit. This isn't a very good
photograph of Aurora, but at least you can have some idea of what she looks like! Aurora was
born 8/28/1997 and her ARI number is 170396. Aurora gave birth in late May
2005
to the female cria pictured at right named Dippin Dot for her fawn spots.
This cria was sired by
Dakota's Cody. Aurora
has been bred to LFA Accoyo Belmonte to give birth in early summer of 2007.
Fionna
A Companion Female!
This white suri female is listed as a companion alpaca for she has been found to
have
small
ovaries, a heritable condition that makes her a non breeder for us. Some
folks might choose to treat this gal
hormonally, but not us. Because this condition (technically hypoplastic
ovaries) is considered heritable in other species, we will not breed Fionna,
furthering the potential for creating problems in future generations.
Fionna was born 20 June, 2008 and is ARI registered number 810573. She
sells as a companion, and strongly recommend not breeding her. Fionna is
what might be called an easy keeper. Around the farm she is called Fat
Fionna, and we aren't sure if this is due to a hormone disorder that is keeping
her ovaries small or if the small ovaries are interfering with her weight, but
she has a bit of extra luggage that she is packing on her frame. She will
make a great Auntie to watch over weanlings, or the perfect companion for
another female, and you get a great suri fleece at shearing each year to boot!
Fionna is priced at $1500.00
Showing Off: Below are some pictures of our 2005 crias. We are so excited about the crias born in 2005, we just have to show them off. Keep checking back for it won't be long before we offer them for sale. Pictured below left to right are Bilby with her ears inside out due to cramped quarters in the womb, Pretzel, Brigid, Cariboo, Marilyn, Mildred, and Rhianna. An incredible group of crias with all of it...conformation, density, and great fiber.
A few of our 2006 crias!
Now for 2007!
Herdsires: Many of the herdsires we have for sale can be included in packages with any of the females described above at a discount to the buyer.
Bluebird
Hills Finian His dam is CPeruvian Charisma (ARI # 806503), a medium
fawn female owned by us.
Finian's
ARI # is
833713 and his birthdate is 9 May, 2001. He is a full Peruvian male. His sire is CPeruvian Dakota a
true black, whose ARI number is 806186. Finian has great locks,
coverage and conformation and will be a great addition to your herd. Finian may be included in a package with other
males or females, or you can purchase him as a potential herdsire for
$4,000.00.
Bluebird Hills Godric
This stunning huacaya male always looks as though he is ready for
his picture to be taken. He has
a proud and upright stance with strong
bone and conformation. His fleece is medium to dark brown and he has black
points. He is tremendously dense with good crimp and a heavy blanket.
His sire is the gray male 0219 Peruvian Dexter (dark silver gray) and his dam is
ATV Sable a true black. He was born on October 10th, 2002 and his ARI
number is 842887. Because he is related to most of our females, Godric
remains unproven, but is intact. He was shown in the OABA 2003 Alpacafest
for a 3rd. Godric may be included at a discount with a female or he may be
purchased for $10,000.
Bluebird Hills
Murdoc
is a white suri male. He took 3rd place at AOBA
as a yearling in 2003. This was quite
an
accomplishment since he had just turned one year old two weeks before the show
and had just come to the show directly from the pasture with no laundering or
fleece manipulation
(which was acceptable at the time). We are offering him here as an
unproven herdsire. His ARI number is 842881 and his
birthdate is May 20, 2002.
His sweet and gentle disposition should make him a great fiber male, especially
at a cost of $2000.00.
Bluebird Hills Odo is also a white suri male who has never
been in the show ring. He is half Accoyo, sired by USA
Camion,
who I believe is now owned by Alpacas of America. This male, has all of the right qualities in bone, conformation,
and luster. You can see in this photo, where he is not
standing very well that he has terrific locks and luster. We would
love to sell Odo and Murdoc together since they have been pasture mates since
birth. Odo's number is 842885, and his birthdate is July 11th,
2002. Odo is priced at $2000.
Fiber Quality Males Remember, alpacas need at least one other alpaca to keep them company, or they do not fair well. They are a herd animal and will get stressed if they don't have a buddy. This leads to ulcers and illness, and we will not sell any of our alpacas to anyone who does not have another alpaca to keep our alpaca company.
We have other males for sale in addition to the males listed below. Fiber males are priced at $500.00
Boris is a white huacaya male with great fiber. Boris is not the superlative male that herdsires have to be to make the grade, but he would be a wonderful fiber male to provide a versatile fleece for a fiber artist that can be dyed any color. He is a pretty mellow guy, taking after his dam Aurora. We will have to take a picture of Boris, for we lost our others in a computer crash last year. Boris is not certified so he has no certificate. Boris is priced at $500.00
Sterling Silver is a white suri male. He was born on 24 October, 1997 and his ARI number is 802265. His dam is PPPeruvian Gabrina and his sire is 4Peruvian Silver Bullet. As a white male he just doesn't have what it takes to be a herdsire, but his fleece and conformation will still make him an excellent fiber male. He has a very nice personality and enjoys a scratch or two.
