Open House: We haven't decided on a date yet, but some time in July we are planning to host our annual farm open house with horse drawn wagon rides and other attractions. These are held on Saturdays.

A WOOL GATHERING
September 16th & 17th, 2006 (Saturday & Sunday)
At Youngs Jersey Dairy
State Route 68 just north of Yellow Springs, Ohio
2 huge tents filled with yarn, fiber artists, equipment for spinners, weaver supplies, knitters, and crocheters.
This is a great event for anyone at all interested in the fiber arts. There are numerous dealers and artists selling their wares. The event includes fiber demonstrations, alpacas, llamas, sheep, goats, shearing demonstrations, activities for the kids, and a great facility at Youngs which is known around the world for their ice cream. Also on the grounds is a corn maze, miniature golf, a driving range, batting cages, and 2 restaurants.

Laurel will present two workshops at an Open House Bud and Brenda Ward are hosting with Cheryl and Vern Ross of Mount Ampato Alpacas. The first workshop will talk about alpaca selection and will begin around 1:00 PM. The second workshop will follow at about 2:30 and will cover some of the decisions to be made in the process of acquiring alpacas.

Bluebird Hills Farm is hosting these alternative medicine workshops so that pet and livestock owners can learn the principals and practices of Healing Touch. Carmen Kolz is the instructor and has been using these techniques where the bio energy fields of animals are assessed and altered to promote healing and pain relief. We are offering two different dates for interested folks to take advantage of and the time is 10:00 to 3:30. We ask that you bring a lunch and wear clothing appropriate to the outside temperatures and weather. We will be working with cats, dogs, alpacas, horses, and even guinea fowl. annual alpaca show at the Ohio State Fairgrounds in
Columbus, Ohio
Breeders will be setting up on Friday with the alpaca show beginning
Saturday morning and ending on Sunday afternoon.
